BIG MIKE OFFERS TWO CHOICES OF VOLTAGE, ARE THE 220 VOLT UNITS MORE POWERFUL?

No, but the 220 volt model runs on 11 amps instead of 18 amps saving you electricity and money.

HOW LONG IS THE POWER SUPPLY CORD?

The power supply cord comes standard at 30 feet.

DO I HAVE TO USE A 55 GALLON DRUM WITH THE INTERCEPTOR LID?

The collection drum must be steel (plastic drums or tubs will collapse under the vacuum pressure) and can be 10 gallon to 95 gallon capacity. The top rim of the drum MUST be in good condition and capable of holding vacuum pressure.

CAN I PICK UP LIQUIDS AND SOLIDS WITH THE SAME INTERCEPTOR LID?

Yes! The Interceptor lid is universal for both solids and liquids.

HOW LONG OF A HOSE RUN CAN I USE AND STILL EXPECT GOOD PERFORMANCE WITH MY BIG MIKE?

Actually, just the opposite. The Big Mike Vacuum will “Lift” four times more weight of material vertically than horizontally. A horizontal “Pull” allows gravity to come into play, and material can drop out of the air stream and lay in the hose. Make sure to keep the extra hose off the ground for best results.

HOW LONG DOES THE FILTER LAST?

Usually 6 months to 1 year. It is important to thoroughly clean the filter each time you empty the drum, that will extend the life of the filter. We do recommend having a spare filter available for each vacuum.

MY SAFETY MANAGER IS INSISTING ON HEPA FILTERED AIR FOR ANY PROCESS AIR BEING RETURNED TO THE WORKSPACE. DOES THE BIG MIKE MEET THESE STANDARDS.?

The Big Mike HEPA Vacuums have certified HEPA filters so you will be in OSHA Compliance. vacuum.

MY FACILITIES MANAGER INSISTS THAT DUE TO INSURANCE REGULATIONS, ALL PORTABLE ELECTRICAL TOOLS AND DEVICES MUST BE U.L. APPROVED. DOES THE BIG MIKE MEET THESE STANDARDS?

Yes, all of the motors, switches, and wiring components are made in Tennessee and Underwriters Laboratory Certified for the U.S. Market.

    I am so glad that we decided to purchase the Big Mike Warehouseman from Tom. As a fertilizer manufacturer, dust control is a major priority for product quality and employee safety reasons. First, Tom was wonderful to work with. He is very knowledgeable about the products and helped us choose the vacuum that would best fit our needs. The Big Mike Warehouseman was packaged extremely well and arrived in perfect condition. After unpacking the warehouseman the assembly took about 10 minutes.     We manufacture Ceramic and Glass products, and the products, and the production area of our facility is very dusty all the time, requiring almost constant cleaning, and we were always sweeping. OSHA came in to test our air quality and we failed the PEL (Permissible Exposure Limit) for airborne dusts miserably. We called Tom at Big Mike USA, and he recommended the Big Mike Warehouseman. With our new Warehouseman, we do all of our floor and spot cleaning with the Big Mike, and have eliminated any sweeping. OSHA came to re-test our IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) and our PPM’s were well below the OSHA standard, and our PEL’s were fine as well. I am very happy that with the help of the Big Mike Warehouseman our employees have a safer work environment and OSHA is satisfied. Thanks Tom and Big Mike!
